This Weeks Idiots

1. Mike Vick-- Hard to dethrone the king of all idiots....
2. Tiki-- I'd like to see someone kick the crap out of him.
3. Stephon Marbury, Ray Buchanan, and other Vick Supporters-- Supporting your boy makes you seems less like a loyal friend and more like a Grade A moron.
4. Anaheim Angels-- Can you please forfeit today's game?

More to come (I have a meeting)

Welcome Back to the Bronx, Sheff

4 Games vs Detroit

3 Games vs Anaheim

4 Games at Detroit

The team from New England has 4 with Anaheim, 3 with Tampa Bay, and 4 with the Pale Hose. The Tigers and Angels have eliminated the Yankees from the playoffs 3 of the past 5 seasons. If they can win 8 of the next 11 games it will go a long way towards reaching the goal of winning the AL East.

Just win Today's game. Please.

Last we heard from old friend Gary Sheffield he mentioned Joe Torre didn't like black people. I think he meant to say that Torre doesn't like black people named Kenny Lofton. Sheff will surely cause a stir amongst the 55,000 fans that should be in the stadium tonight. at 7pm.

R.I.P. Scooter

RIP Phil Rizzuto.

The Hall of Fame Shortstop and Voice of the Yankees for decades has passed on.

Holy Cow.

14-7

The Yankees begin a 21 game stretch that likely will determine whether or not they are in the playoffs at seasons end. Opponents includes Cleveland, Anaheim, Detroit, Boston, and a break with Baltimore and Tampa. If the Yankees can go 14-7 they should put themselves in good position to have a chance at the division title. It's amazing that only 2 months ago Yankees fans wanted to fire Cashman, Torre, and anyone else they could find. A little pitching, hitting, and defense comes a long way huh fellas?

Phil Hughes goes tonight and needs to improve on his first outing back versus KC last weekend. This is his 4th start this season. In the 1st and the 3rd starts he got hit around a bit. In his 2nd start he had a no-no through 61/3 innings. Which Hughes will we see tonight? Hopefully we will get 7 innings from him with Joba finishing the last 2 as the Yankees take the opener 5-1.

The NFL preseason has a full schedule of games this weekend. Hard to believe that football is less than one month away.

In what could be the feel-good story of the baseball season (unless the Yankees win the Series), Rick Ankiel made a triumphant return to the Bigs last night. Pinch hitting in the 7th inning, Ankiel hit his 3rd career HR and his first since coming back to the league as an OF. You may remember him as the Gem of the Cardinals system, and a 19 year old phenom who pitched in the Majors in 1999 at the age of 19. After no longer being able to throw a strike he went back to the minors and re-invented himself as a position player. Tip your cap to him today.

Barry Lamar Bonds, Home Run King

Congratulations on 756.

The Yankees are only 5 games back of the Sax. Could be an interesting few weeks wouldn't you say? On another note, thank you Toronto Blue Jays for lighting a fire under the team last night.

I don't feel like writing so this will have to do.

Weekend in Review

Congrats to Barry Bonds, Tom Glavine, and Alex Rodriguez on reaching 755, 300, and 500 respectively this weekend.

Bud Selig, you are an asshole. You watched with indifference as Bonds tied Aaron's mark and then stood with hands in pockets and a blank stare. As the Commissioner of MLB you should have shown a bit of class and applauded as the record was tied. No one is asking you to give the guy a hug. But you do represent baseball and this was a bad way to do so.

The Yankees scored another Touchdown yesterday and added a 2 point conversion to sweep the Royals and bring their post All Star break record to 18-7. The next 5 weeks will decide whether the Yankees make the playoffs. After facing the Blue Jays tonight they will face Cleveland, Anaheim, Boston, and Detroit over the next few weeks. By September 16th we should know what this team is made of and if they will be playing in October.

Joba Chamberlain should join the Yankees in Toronto for today's matinee with the Blue Jays. Let's hope that Joba plays the role of Mo in 1996.

John from Cincinnati is one strange show. I still am not quite clear about what the heck is going on here and the season finale is a week away. Anyone with some insight into this is welcome to be heard here.

List of Idiots, Week 2

Last weeks list was so well received by readers (my wife and dog) that I am forced to make this list weekly it seems as we need to recognize the people in this world who deserve to be recognized.

Michael Strahan -- Please retire.
Curt Schilling -- Does this guy ever shut up? I'd like to see he and Barry in a steel cage match.
Britney Spears -- When K Fed is known as the "responsible parent" there is something wrong.
Vick Supporters -- You belong on your own list, frankly.
Joe Theismann -- You should be happy you had the MNF job that long in the first place.

Please add to the list in the comments section. I have know idea who I am actually saying that to as my "readers" are unknown.....

Comments people!
