Phil 'er Up!

For the first time since 1995 when Andy Pettitte made his Major League debut, a Yankees top prospect will take the mound for his first ML start on Thursday. Is this a sign of desperation from the Yankees whose starting pitchers do not feel the need to work for more than 90 minutes every 5 days? (can we apply for that job, please). Will Hughes make one start then return to the minors when Mussina comes off of the DL next week? Or will he force the Yankees to keep him in the rotation for the rest of the season.

Let's hope this kid throws like the last Phenom rookie pitcher in NYC, the good Doc Gooden himself and turns the Yankees early season pitching woes around.

They gotta bring him up. Redsox got Nobu (Dice-K) we got Terriaki Boy (Igawa) when it comes to pitchers. I'd rather have A Jawa up there.

scott Proctor should worry more about child support and less about run support.
